The 21st Annual Meeting of the Arizona Riparian Council was help in conjunction with the University of Arizona’s Cooperative Extension Service and CLIMAS. The theme was Climate and Riparian Areas: Connecting the Dots — Climate Change/Variability and Ecoystem Impacts in Southwestern Riparian Areas. The meeting was held April 11-13, 2007 at the Hotel Casa Grande, Casa Grande, Arizona.

The meeting drew together over 100 participants representing representing riparian scientists and land and water managers from across Arizona. Presentations brought out important and timely discussions on the complex interactions between climate variability and change and current and future management options for Arizona’s highly sensitive riparian areas. Two unique workshop exercises connected researchers with managers to discuss and explore research needs as well as strategies for communicating climate change information in timely and useful manners for planning and decision making.
