The theme of the meeting was Saltcedar: Friend or Foe? The plenary session included talks about the issues of saltcedar management, biological control, causes and consequences of the spread of saltcedar, wildlife habitat, and the southwestern willow flycatcher. These presentations were followed by an roundtable discussion.The afternoon was presentations of technical papers. The Saturday field trips were to the San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area and the the Patagonia-Sonoita Creek Preserve.
