Treated wastewater has become a valuable resource that supports several of our state’s riparian areas. To view the large scale operation involving Phoenix’ treated wastewater we’ve arranged a tour of the Tres Rios wetland ponds .

The theme this year is Riparian Protection at the Local Level and the meeting will be co-sponsored with the Arizona Association of Environmental Professionals and the Water Resources Research Center at the University of Arizona.

Join the Council at Dragonfly Day 2014 on March 29, 2014

Dip into Dragonfly Day and discover a magical river just minutes from the heart of downtown Phoenix.  The Saturday, March 29th event runs from 10AM to 2PM at the Phoenix Rio Salado Habitat Restoration Area gateway located at 2439 S. Central Avenue and celebrates this year’s crop of dragonflies, newly arrived Monarch butterflies, native birds, plants, and wildlife, and of course water.

The Arizona Riparian Council typically has its annual meeting around April.  I’m sure many of you are wondering why you haven’t heard about an upcoming spring meeting. Well the truth is we are still in the planning stages.
